The contributions of Orange County’s Mexicans to Mexican-American achievements are few but crucial: Mendez vs. Westminster, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, the city of SanTana, and Cruz Reynoso, the first Latino judge on the California State Supreme Court. Add to that list Manic Hispanic, the collection of Chicanos from influential O.C. punk bands who decided in adulthood it was firme to be Mexican and have spent nearly a decade refrying punk standards to reflect la vida loca. I’ll interview two of them for the main segment and spin some of their tunes. WARNING: Not for the P.C.-hearted, even with FCC regulations.

A more-serious topic opens the show: documentaries on the 1991 Los Angeles riots (or “uprising,” if you’re a pseudo-Marxist) from the African-American and Korean perspective shown at the KIWA headquarters.
